CHARACTER OF THE WEEK
One Character. One DISC Insight. One Practical Takeaway.
Week 1 • Decisive Duck • High D (Direct)

Are You A Decisive Duck?
“When it’s time to make a move, I don’t paddle around.” -Decisive Duck
People with a High D/Direct DISC style tend to be competitive, results-oriented, fast-paced, and have a higher sense of urgency. They are comfortable making quick decisions.
Decisive Duck’s competitive advantage is “By choosing quickly, I create momentum while others stall.” This could sometimes be true, and every strength can become a weakness when over-extended (we call this a blind spot). What feels decisive to you may feel rushed or flying-by-the-seat-of-your-pants to someone else. You may be ready to move while others are still gathering information or trying to be heard.
The goal isn’t to stop making quick decisions. It’s to recognize when speed helps—and when slowing down leads to a better decision.
Thought-starter: Think about when being a “decisive duck” helped you? Now, think about a time, when being a “decisive duck” actually ended up slowing you down?
Your turn: The first person to share a personal “decisive duck” moment will receive the exact 2026 Topps Chrome VeeFriends Decisive Duck card pictured above, mailed by Lisk Associates. No purchase necessary. U.S. mailing addresses only.

During a multiday, in-person leadership training workshop, our team was presented with several last-minute changes each day that impacted the agenda and presenter schedule, but due to Cassi’s decisiveness, the participants and executive-level leaders in the room were none the wiser.
What is better than having one person call out another as a Decisive Duck. Thanks Ashley!
